Canonical, the editor of Ubuntu, seem ready to launch a version of their Linux OS for mobile platforms (called Netbook Remix). Mark Shuttleworth (Chief executive of Canonical Ltd, founder of the Ubuntu project) told the Guardian recently: "We're working with Intel, which produces chips custom-made for this sector".
It seems that Canonical has been working on this project for months and made it a priority. That said, the new version of Ubuntu is barely mentioned in this interview, but it's a tantalizing prospect: SUSE looks really nice on the HP Mininotes and I'm eager to see Ubuntu running on a mobile platform.
PS: nice view on the London Eye from your desk, Mark!
